This is an easy one for a family. Quick trip across the bay - just remember to look both ways before crossing the street. Enjoy!
This cache was built in 1852 of cast iron sections and stood 100' high. The original was destroyed by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War, so a new one was built on the same site in 1872. The "new one" proved invaluable when the lives of 60 people that took refuge in it in 1915 to escape a hurricane were spared.
This cache is on private property, so be sure to obey all posted notices/warnings.
